Dear Patient,
I developed a passion for nutritional modalities after I lost my Father and my Husband to cancer resulting from occupational exposure to toxic chemicals. After the realization that my husband had been misdiagnosed for 5 years as having migraines and sinus head aches I personally understood the monumental importance of finding the root cause of illness rather than treating the symptoms like so many conventionally trained practitioners do today. Further, I realized the importance of performing thorough patient evaluations and creating a comprehensive plan of care.
In 2006 I developed symptoms of Hypothyroidism that were disregarded by my Primary Care Physician. Although my TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) was near the upper limits of normal at 4 MIU/L for several years, I was told my thyroid function was "normal" and adding a Free T3, and a Free T4 as requested to evaluate for Sub-Clinical Hypothyroidism was not considered main stream medicine. Six months later and 30 pounds heavier with a myriad of classic Hypothyroid symptoms I presented to a local Bariatrician (Weight Loss Doctor) in desperation. My lab work was redrawn and indeed my TSH, Free T3, and Free T4 were notably out of range, as well as my cholesterol for the very first time in my life. I was placed on Armour Thyroid Medication and noted resolution of all of my symptoms with in 2 months. My cholesterol also normalized very quickly.
Shortly after my diagnosis of Hypothyroidism I presented as a new patient of Beverly Medical Center in search of answers regarding the root cause of my Thyroid condition since no one in my family had ever been diagnosed with Thyroid Disease. I was amazed and delighted by Dr. Beverly Goode's limitless knowledge, thoroughness, and compassion that I knew immediately I needed to be part of the Beverly Medical Center Team. It is with great pleasure that I have joined Beverly Medical Center to help others in search of answers, optimal health, wellness, and disease prevention.
Healthy Regards,
Linda Bergin Salerno, PA-C
